The World of Greyhawk centers on the Flanaess, a multinational land emerging from a dark period of war. Crowded with nations and groups of every stamp, and threaded through with roads and waterways, the Flaeness is an object of supreme interest to its inhabitants who see it as the center of enlightened humanity. Its people face each new day with growing optimism, but evil lurks in shadowed caverns and decadent courts. The final outcome of this intrigue is ever in question, and new heroes must always be found to keep their realms from destruction.  

Diplomatic Tension

Amidst accusations of the corruption, the Great Kingdom has decayed and looks on the brink of finally falling. New realms are rising to take its place, though each of these comes with the potential to be even more evil than its predecessor.   In addition to this, a mysterious brotherhood has reached out from its southern stronghold for the first time in it's history, beginning campaigns of diplomacy and conquest after decades of isolationism.  

Declarations of War

A horrifying leader worshipped as a demigod has been freed from captivity; amassing a number of many of fiendish troops to expand his empire and threaten the heart of the Flanaess.   Armies of humanoids, brutish creatures with both human and bestial features, march across the land, and though some have been repelled, there are still lost lands to be won. In addition to the giants and creatures drawn from alien planes laying waste to civilization, barbarians, assassins and other monsters run rampant. The past few years has seen widespread conflict damage the fabric of life here, perhaps irreparably. Treaties which were supposed to have ended the wars that have embroiled the continent have been broken again and again, and borders everywhere are in turmoil.
