Cult of the Golden Stag

The Golden Stag is a bit of a fairy tale. Legends say it used to roam and protect the forests and plains, but has been long forgotten by all but a few worshipers, replaced by larger and more well known nature deities. Despite this lack of worship, the Golden Stag can sometimes be seen roaming through the lands, protecting nature and stamping out corruption and abominations where it finds it.   The Golden Stag was known to offer boons to those who fought to protect nature. Anyone who sought the golden stag as a trophy was rumored to have never been seen again.   The Golden Stag was reported to have been seen both as a golden deer and as a regular deer, but with with antlers that shimmered gold in the light. Some stories say it could sprout wings from its back and take flight, which may explain its holy symbol of a peryton (winged deer).   The Golden Stag is favored amongst rangers and druids that still remember it.
