Temple of the Heart

Temple containing the Heart of The Philosopher King.

Keeper of Secrets

To enter the Temple of the Heart, one must contend with the Keeper of Secrets. This is an animated large stone face. To enter, one must convince the keeper of his loyalty and sincerity.

Murals

After passing the Keeper of Secrets, one will pass thru the Mural of History. These hallways typically display some event important to the inhabitant or worshipers.

Panel 1

This panel shows a large figure sitting in a grand throne. In one hand he holds a sword and in the other a scale. He is clad in robes and wears a mask of the sun on his face. Before his throne is a line of figures without feet, only a whisp of a tail. (Religion 15 - These represent souls) In the upper part of the panel are several golden figures with white wings (Religion 10 - Angels). Behind the throne, you see a figure in black with a pale face.

Panel 2

This panel features a road that splits off into multiple branches, each ending with a door. The golden figures appear to be leading the legless figures along each branch, while the Sun figure stands at the base observing everything. Besides him stands a figure in black with a pale face.

Panel 3

This panel features a grand city. On the right, you see the Sun figure standing on a grand tower, arms outstretched with rays of light emanating from him. In the lower center, you see a multitude of figures, in many different styles of dress, raising their hands in adoration. On the opposite side of this panel, you see the figure in black with a pale face standing alone. Clouds of black seem to be forming behind him.

Panel 4

This panel features a large library. In the center is a table with many figures seated at the table, surrounded by books and scrolls as if a conference or discussion were being had. The sun figure sits at the head of the table, his arms wide as he offers his library to his guests. Seated to one side, you see a female figure with bright red hair and golden eyes. This figure is more delicately carved than the others. It seems more care was put into this figure. Behind the sun figure, stands the figure in black with a pale face. Along the upper edges of the panel, can be seen black figures with skeleton faces crawling around.

Panel 5

This panel features several scenes, the first is of the Sun figure, and the Red haired figures as they stand over a book as though in conversation. The next scene is a more intimate scene as the two figures stand close, as if in an embrace. And the third is of the Red haired woman and the Sun figure standing together in the tower, arms clasped together as the citizens down below are in celebration.

Panel 6

This panel features a dark and dreadful scene. It appears to be a wicked looking throne room as a large figure in red sits upon a throne. There are twisted and distorted figures all around the edges. The panel features many sharp edges and angles. In the center, standing before the large red figure, is the black figure.

Panel 7

This panel also depicts several scenes. The first has the large red figure standing over the black figure. The next features the black figurer twisted in pain as a legless form is pulled from its body into the grasp of the red figure. The final scene shows the black figure standing upright, robes open to reveal a skeleton beneath.

Panel 8

This panel is more erratic than the previous ones. It depicts the city from before, but now in chaos. Smoke rises from the background, and dark figures can be seen fighting with golden figures. In the center, a black figure with a skeleton face marches steadily across the panel. Staring at this panel, you have a flashback as you recall the screams of the dying, the smell of smoke and burning flesh, and the fear of the dead.

Panel 9

This panel shows the grand library as it burns, the red haired woman lies across the table with black figures dancing around it. The skeletal figure stands behind the table in the center, with a wicked looking sword thrust upward. (There are four very faint souls off to one side. They appear to have been carved with the most gentlest of hands, as if they were meant to not be noticed.)

Panel 10

This panel shows the tower where the black figures can be seen throwing the sun figure down to the street below, but without the sun mask. The skeletal figure stand now in the tower holding a scale in one hand and the mask in the other.

Panel 11

This panel shows many familiar figures to even the most non-religous would recognize. A long line of gods charge across the panel with weapons raised as the figure in black stand in the tower--lines of energy emanating from it as though a spell were cast. Behind that tower stands the figure in red his palm up towards the skeleton figure. (In the bottom right, Melora can be seen behind a shield, a golden figure with white wings crouched behind her.)

Panel 12

This final panel shows the skeleton figure sitting in a grand throne. A sword in one hand, and scales in the other as souls line up before it. On either side are roads leading to doors. And along the borders of this panel stand the gods, arms raised in adoration.

Guardian

The final challenge of this temple was to defeat the Guardian, a large Blood Golem.
