Brindlewood

Brindleman, as he has been dubbed, the cannibal warlock of Brindlewood Forest, is said to feast on the flesh of his victims to gain their power. Though many have attempted to put the madman down for good, Brindleman has amassed a following of trolls and other monsters and convinced them of his divinity. These monsters act as his minions and guard the forest camp where he lives, occasionally venturing out to assist in his hunting. While the camp is home to many items of great power, the crazed spellcaster and his monstrous guardians have thus far defeated those few adventurers bold enough to try to loot it. Perhaps the greatest of these treasures is the magical sword of local legend Laughing John, the hero who came closest to vanquishing Brindlewood before his flesh was devoured by the madman and his devoted servants. The forest itself is dark and filled with old mysteries, many explorers have ventured deep into its bowels, never to return. Travelers stay clear from its edges while going south or north, but rumors persist of hundreds disappearing from the roadway a year.
