Dwarves of the Iron Hall
The Dwarves in the Iron Hall are a stubborn bunch. They came from the Kingdom of Tel Morath almost 1600 years ago and settled in the Shornhelm Expanse while the ancient kingdom of the Frost Giants still ruled over the The Frostdawn. The dwarves of the Iron Hall are the most stubborn of any dwarven cultures on Mythris and take a great deal of pride in it. They love the mountains and all that roam wild within them. Truly believing that they are carved from stone and thus are unmovable in their resolve. They have managed to remain quite neutral in politics since the fortress cities founding, and profit from very lucrative trade in precious stones, mithral and fine luxury crafted goods. In 1255, the Kingdom of Alamor ordered the Dwarves of the Iron Hall to kneel to his growing empire. Naturally, the Dwarves refused. From 1255-1261 the Blizzard War raged on within the Shornhelm Expanse. Entire legions of the Kings soldiers perished in the mountains. In 1261 a truce was called. With the Dwarves retaining their ancestral lands as their own. Over the past four centuries their relations with Alamor have grown to an alliance.
