Krosek the Hydra

The ancient Hydra known as Krosek has prowled the same territory for almost a millennia. He goes where he pleases, and devours anything that attempts to pass through his lair. He is more ornery than other hydras, because his scales have grown so long they cause him physical pain. Until Krosek, it was thought Hydras would perish long before six hundreds years old, Krosek has defied that. Whoever could kill Krosek, would be anointed as a champion for centuries to come. They would also claim his supposed impressive collection of powerful treasure. Thousands have attempted to kill him, only to be melted to sludge on the mountain side. The price on his alabaster white hide once reached over ten thousand rubies, but no one was able to do the deed. It wasn't until 1632, when a group of heroes did battle with the beast deep within its lair. It seemed unkillable, and only by chance was it that Sir Cornealious threw a javelin from the floor of the cavern. The javelin struck the beast in its cold heart, dispatching its huge body over the stone floor.
