Outreach Inn
A large two-story half-timbered building can be found at the south end of the square. Smoke is coming out of the three chimneys on the steep thatched roof. W here the window shutters are open, a warm light shines out. Above the double door is a sign and a pair of red-painted lanterns next to each other. The sign lets you know that you have reached the Outreach Inn. The scent of grilled boar can be smelled all the way to the well.
The inn is run by Olm and his family. Formerly, the building was only used for the small hamlet occupants who would meet each other over glasses of mead, but since the Blood Veil disappeared in 1645, travelers have been a common sight, and the place has been turned into an inn. The upper story contains three double rooms and in the west wing is a dormitory and a room for six. A bed in the dormitory costs 5 silver coins, and the rooms cost two gold coins per person. After dark, the villagers loyal to the hamlet mayor Mrs. Pollmor gather around the large open fire in the middle of the taproom. The villagers talk about the day’s work, exchange gossip and look at the guard schedule for the next day. A rocking chair next to the fireplace is reserved for the old mid-wife, who usually visits the inn two or three times per week. The old sheriff of Outreach hamlet, Sturkas drinks his compulsory tankard alone at a corner table. The mead served at the Outreach is watery and tasteless, but if you ask for something else to drink, Olm can offer a good wine from a barrel he bought from a merchant passing through the village. When Mrs. Pollmor isn’t around, Olm brings out a barrel of an old Rendlean Dwarf recipe of delicious beer. Wild boar, mutton and game birds are being grilled on the open fire. The meat is served with turnips and car-rots. Visitors short on silver can get a stew of turnips and bacon rinds.
