Tarkas

Tarkas has had a difficult existence. It was the second town founded by the Catfolk in -2001 and eventually grew to a sprawling metropolis of trade. However it has seen great times of strife brought upon by dry spells of trade with its neighbor the City States of Vedania. It also has been subject to over three dozen assaults by the Mamluks, a freedom fighter organization of former Human slaves. The Mamluks are ruthless and strike hardest here at Tarkus, it being the most secluded of all Akatarian cities. Fortunately for Tarkas, it survived the release of the slaves in 1673, and continues to be the center and first stop of trade caravans from the south.
