The Petrified Forest
This forest is as ancient as this land. Speculation for its appearance has been determined to be a massive magical pulse, that froze the trees in a state of petrification perhaps more that three thousand years ago. The woods are a mess of thorn briars and twisted gnarled leafless trees. At night, it is even more ominous, for the trees do not sway in the wind, stuck motionless like clawed monstrous fingers reaching skyward. Parts of the wood are dry as a bone, and others are wet almost like a swamp, travel is unpredictable and completely deadly. The sounds of wolf packs roaming can be heard at night, as with the scurrying of large venomous spiders that trap weary travelers along the road in their thick black webs. Sitting next to Wolfholme, the citizens there take great precaution to not disturb the forest, lest they provoke its dark masters.
