Winters' Thorn Forest

At sight its quiet, and the sight of snow hares and wood thrushes going about their business is calming. Nothing can be heard but the gentle snowy wind rustling the tall snow laced pines. The sounds of critters in the snow drifts and woodpeckers hammering into the trees can be heard. You crunch into the treeline and see the red of small snow-berry bushes, fox, deer and bear tracks. The glistens off the snow and the trees look like they were perfectly cut from a fine crystal.
The Winter's Thorn contains many ancient and broken ruins from the era of the Frost Giants. Great crumbling towers can be seen over the trees, and all that remains is stone rubble covered in blankets of snow. Weathered down to what at first glance is nothing more than rocks.
