Clan Guandar

This drow merchant clan is know to be outsiders to drow as to most who cross their path. The only reason why other drow clans and noble houses tolerate them is two fold:

• the travelling merchants have an unparallelled knowldege of the underdark beyond the the safety of the "vault" cities
• The Guandarans are masters of taming oozes and fungi which make for useful compounds and foodstuffs

The major source of contention between them and other drow is there devotion to the deity Guandar "the elder eye" who is seen as a threat to the power of Lolth.  This deity often is considered to be an elder evil as evident of its ties to other eldritch beings such as "the patient one".

But the spider queen being who she is sees the benefit of keeping them around (as long as they can be controlled).
