The Purple Veils

JOINING: One must be invited to join by an existing memeber (which an ultraviolet - see below - can veto). Then a series of tests are performed
FAVORED CLASSES: Any
PRESTIGE CLASSES: Mastermind, Umbral Disciple, Group Leader and Legendary Commander
ASSOCIATED SKILLS: Knowledge (Local), Profession (any), Knowledge (Nobility) and Survival
PRESTIGE AWARDS: One leadership feat costs only 2 prestige points
WEAPONS & ARMOR: None

Structure

The organization operates in "cells" throughout the Flannesse, with only the ultra-violets being aware of the true identities of members within their own cell.

Wearers of the Purple Veil
  • these are the rank and file members of the organization
  • During guild meetings and out in public while performing guild duties they are expected to be covered by a purple veil
  • can petition the Ultra-violets for specific aide
Ultra-violets
  • leaders of the various cells
  • they are allowed to be publicly known as members of the Purple Veils
  • has authority over members requiring to perform tasks (mercenary/adventuring work, aiding other members etc.)
  Raisens
  • though not an official designation a term often applied to new members

Culture

Members are expected to follow the dictates of the ultra-violets; who in turn are expected to support members. As a mutual aide society they often have the "a rising tide elevates all ships mentality".

Those Purple Veils who have their identity revealed are often relocated to another cell far away or are excommunicated/exiled (under threat of death if they reveal any other members or secrets)

Public Agenda

The Purple Veils often perform acts of Philanthropy to enhance their reputation.

They also approach various other organizations as perspective patrons of their services.
