The Tale of the Twins

Summary

Elven legends state that there will come a time when twins will be born that will have a dramatic effect among their people.   In this legend the twins will be born: one a regular elf and the other a drow of a non-mixed elven couple (something which has only occurred a few times in known history).

These sibling are said to be destined to become either a unifying force for the elves and drow or one that will see the end of the other (depending on the sect involved).

NOTE: The PC Meremire is of such a birht

Variations & Mutation

In some versions of the tale the two sibling don't unite but become bitter rivals leading not just to the others downfall but the end of their perspective elven species.

Cultural Reception

Both elves and drow take this prophecy seriously.

• Elves tend to separate those of such births and send them away to separate and distant lands from one another (such as the case with Meremire)
• the Drow tend to execute the children of such births
