Shamath

Shamath, god of death, conflict and law, is one of the Aethertide Pantheon's minor dieties alongside his many siblings. According to the beliefs of Tideans, they are the children of the major deities Meari (goddess of the sea) and Rhagnar (god of the sky).

Description

Shamath, like most of the minor Tidean deities, is usually depicted as part-Marelis part-human, with the exact breakdown falling to the individual. He is usually tall and skinny, though muscular, and dark. When human, he usually has black hair and gray eyes. When more Marelis, he is often very dark but gray shades.

Personality

Shamath is one of the most solemn and stable of the Tidean deities, unchanging in attitude and aura. His calm is pervasive and sought after in high-emotion situations.

Worshippers, Clergy, and Temples

Shamath is invoked by all at different times, due to his dominion over death, law, and conflict.

Clergy
Most clergy are general Aetherwalkers or Walkers who serve the entire Pantheon and live in their home communities. A few may be particularly devoted to Shamath specifically, and serve them as traveling clergy or in the temples where Walkers receive their formal training before taking vows.

Special Orders and Sects

The Chosen
The vast majority of Walkers are fairly run-of-the-mill clergy, going about their business with a lot of training and maybe a small amount of divine help. But Clerics and Paladins are not unheard of; those who seem to have a more direct line of communication and aid from the deities.
