Amberan

Demographics

Amberan has a population of 6,833 plus citizens. They are primarily miners in the gem mine. Due to the intense mining conditions in tight mine shafts, the majority, some 37% of the citizens, are gnomes. With the rest being smaller numbers of humans (20%), halflings (18%), elves (10%), dwarves (7%), half-elves (5%), and half-orcs (3%). The remaining population work in areas that benefit the mining operations and minting practices for the Golden Amber Empire.

Defences

The most effective defense is the river way that leads to the bay where Amberan is located. At the mouth of the river is Harirom, and they send warnings if anything is attempting to come up the river to Amberan.

Industry & Trade

The primary industry is gem mining. It is the most significant contributor of gems to the Golden Amber Empire. They produce so many valuable gems that they have started the concept of reminting currency in the image of valuable gems instead of the standard system located around the World of Stendaaris. The following is the change in currency when traveling to Amberan or any other city in the Golden Amber Empire.

Assets

The maximum liquid gold the outpost can take on purchases up to 15,000 gp. At any given time, the outpost holds onto 5,124,750 gold in assets available for sale. The purchase of 15,000 gp is a guide that anything under that price is available for sale regardless of whether it is magical or non-magical.

History

Amberan is the second settlement the Golden Amber Empire settled. They discovered a massive cave that had an abundant amount of Amber gems. So they established Amberan as an outpost mining location. They found this location in the process of hunting a Gem Dragon. They keep seeing a yellow dragon flying around the Archipelago of Ambersvale but could never find the lair.

Geography

Amberan is carved deep into the side of one of the Pirma Mountains located on the Archipelago of Ambersvale. Amberan is the main gem mining outpost for the Golden Amber Empire. The mines go 113 acres deep into the Pirma Mountains.
