The Taurs Dynasty
Structure
The Taurs Dynasty is led by a council of three tribal leaders: the Elders of Brol, Elders of Zaben, and Elders of Zeroros. The council selects one of their tribes to serve as the Majestic Elder, who becomes the ultimate decision-maker within the Taurs Dynasty's borders. Although the council can still offer suggestions and overrule the Majestic Elder, this is a rare occurrence and only happens if the Majestic Elder is not acting in the people's best interest. The Taurs Dynasty strongly emphasizes shamanistic arts and values nature, believing that those who fully embrace it can tap into its power.
Culture
In the Taurs Dynasty, there are three tribes led by elders who represent specific races. The Elders of Brol are Loxodon, who live by the Shadowbrook River. Their leader is called the Elder of the Flowing Tusk. The Elders of Zaben are Minotaurs who live in the Wildflower Medows. Their leader is called the Elder of the Blossoming Horn. The Elders of Zeroros are Centaurs who live in the Forest of Taurs. Their leader is called the Elder of the Galloping Hoof. They all have unique shamanistic traditions and seek guidance from nature gods. The Majestic Elder is the ultimate decision-maker and safeguard of their rituals. The elders and their tribes are symbiotic, standing together as custodians of nature's sacred wisdom.
History
The Taurs Dynasty consisted of three tribes named after their respective leaders - Brol, Zaben, and Zeroros. Despite the elders' belief that a council ruling would be the best way to govern by following rituals that connect them to the nature gods, political turmoil plagues the Dynasty, with insurgencies and revolutions occurring every century. Thus, appointing a new Majestic Elder is a careful process, marked by caution and foreboding. Highly respected shamans regard this situation as an ill omen, fearing the displeasure of the nature gods.
If a tribe's chosen leader is overruled, they are banished from the capital of Meba Pirus until the next election. The three tribes have a volatile history of uniting and separating, with the latest disagreement arising over trade with the Aegis Colony. This led to a full-fledged coup, with a new leader appointed from Brol. The ousted leader and their advisors attempted to escape by sea towards the Continent of Tauntail. Still, solid currents ultimately foiled them, and they crashed near Canous on the Continent of Renstrom.
