Lizardfolk
A religious race whose nation is considered a global superpower. The Lizardfolk inhabit the northeastern corner of Wagakeya, including the entire Bakusa Desert. They are a people with an eye for further expansion, but nobody knows which colony they will strike first. With an East Asian aesthetic, their architecture is world-renowned for its beauty even in the harsh deserts of eastern Wagakeya. There is something else Lizardfolk are known for though: magic is forbidden outside the aristocracy.

Civilization and Culture
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Lizardfolk society is organized into a theocracy, where the religious elite rule the commonfolk. Lizardfolk produce many clerics, and the greatest of these have the opportunity to lead their nation as the Ootokami.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Only members of Lizardfolk aristocracy (something with deep ties to the clergy) are allowed to practice magic--all other magical practice is banned with serious penalties if the ban is violated.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Lizardfolk commoners generally get along well with members of other races, but people tend to view the Lizardfolk aristocracy as seeing the rest of the world only as potential places to be conquered. Many Yuan-Ti hope that the Lizardfolk will turn their attention to their Tortle neighbors one day and end the Tortle's practice of slavery.
