Tiefling

Tieflings are demon-like people born rarely to other races in Wagakeya. Their association with evil spirits leads many Tieflings to hide their identity in the hopes of avoiding racial discrimination. Tieflings are one of the most physically diverse races, with some even being capable of flight like the Aarakocra. While their circumstances would suggest Tieflings to be messengers of evil, Tieflings do not lean towards any moral alignment.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

A Tiefling generally resembles its parents' race(s), but with many additional features that give them a demonic appearance. Many Tieflings have horns and/or thick tails and an unusual hue to their skin. Tieflings have been known to be born with wings, polydactyly, hooved unguligrade feet, and/or forked tongues on occasion. Tieflings are generally considered to be off-putting to Aasimar.

Genetics and Reproduction

Tieflings are born to parents of other races. It is thought by some scholars that the birth of Tieflings is associated with proximity to evil spirits. While the frequency at which Tieflings are born to other Tieflings is a little higher than the average, in general Tieflings tend to just have children of the same race as their parents.

Common Myths and Legends

Tieflings are sometimes claimed to be demons of Typhon that have infiltrated the mortal, civilized world to poison society with evil. Others see them as the manifestation of a curse on Wagakeya. Regardless, superstitions of Tieflings permeate the continent.

Superstitions about Tieflings lead many people to treat Tieflings with caution. It can take a little longer for Tieflings to gain an individual's trust compared to other races.
