Historic Esmeraldas

Although the original city of Esmeraldas remains the heart of this district, the community has become almost unrecognizable in the years since the district’s incorporation. “Historic” is a bit of a local joke now, as the original buildings have nearly all been torn down and replaced with dozens of starscrapers. In the midst sits the unmistakable blue dome of Blue Sun Stadium.
