Circle, a Water Worm, learned how to curve its body into a round shape. So delighted by this discovery, Circle taught another Worm, Little Circle, how to bend into a round shape by extending its Arm. When Little Circle was fully round, Circle bestowed a Kiss on the littler Worm's head and then went to sleep, turning into the Circle archipelago.   Little Circle, alone, turned to stones to keep company. These stones were eventually transformed into the nautiloid Tanuli people. Upon the creation of life, Little Circle realized that the rest of time would have to be spent caring for the new creatures and providing them a full world to live in. In return, the Tanuli explore all that is gifted to them.

Now, the Tanuli people live in a world teeming with life. Little Circle has created flora and fauna to make their lives exciting and meaningful, including dangerous predatory creatures like the anguil.

Now, dozing, Little Circle occasionally shivers, but is fated to wake up when the Sky Worm in the sky above Wormsea finally crashes into their world, bursting the bubble and killing both Circle and Little Circle. What will happen to the Tanuli without their gods?
