4712/08/29 - The Party destroys the Wardstone Fragment

The party destroys the Wardstone Fragment in The Grey Garrison at Kenabres, which discharges the remaining Wardstones, destroying the attacking demons, but making the Wardstones hunks of useless stone and metal.

The party arrives at the top of The Grey Garrison, and meets Jeslyn, who is defending the Wardstone Fragment while Areelu Vorlesh is out searching for the right Nahyndrian Crystals to corrupt the fragment. However, the party overwhelms Jeslyn, and destroys the fragment with a Rod of Cancellation, which infuses them with massive amounts of power. Areelu herself projects herself into the room, and summons demons to destroy the party, but the discharging power from the Wardstone intersects with the connection that Areelu had made to the Material plane, and it tears her body apart. She is forced to break the connection, with the demons that Areelu had already been able to summon the final occupants of the room. The demons fought somewhat bravely, but the party's new infused power allows the party to easily defeat the summoned demons.   The destruction of the Wardstone Fragment and the breaking of the Wardstone line discharged all of the power infused into the Wardstones, and caused massive damage to all of the demons nearby the other Wardstones. However, such a discharge also left all of the Wardstones useless, with the party containing the last remaining power from the Wardstones.
