Toutongag: Moving Office
Summary
There's an old building in the mountains around Vort Yiki. Perhaps there was something restless in the wood that formed it, or the stones that it laid upon. But every so often, if you leave it alone for just a little while, the whole building will begin to move. It only moves for a cubit or so, but it will almost never be in the same position twice. Some say that it moves to gobble up the wildlife that gets a little too close to it, while others say that those who used to work there are pushing at it from the inside. Regardless, one shouldn't get too close to it, lest you find the proof for yourself!
Historical Basis
The movement of the Keyrit capital to Vort Yiki brought about a series of heavy redistricting changes. In fact, one district ended up with two district offices, one of which was abandoned to consolidate costs and staff. For a considerable amount of time, enough for the legend to spread, the remaining office building was never sold or restructured. However, the legend got out of hand, and soon the building was an inordinate hassle to maintain and protect just by sitting there. In 203, the building was ordered to be torn down, to the disappointment of troublemakers everywhere.
Spread
This legend started sincerely, but the pragmatic populace of Keyrit didn't believe it. There were more people who made fun of the notion than who believed it. Gradually, this mockery took on a life of its own, to which the amused detractors were just as fanatic as the true believers. Late one night, a prankster reset the stone walkways around the building just so he could "prove" to the new arrivals in the morning that the building had moved. It brought equal portions of skepticism, belief, and merriment.
