Baffgum's Wagon

Home to Wrend's Smallest Wonders

Baffgum is a curious fellow... he has the temperament of a seasoned Educator, kind and patient, but has clearly never lived within the Syndicate's walls. He instills a childlike wonder with his wares that the Syndicate wishes they could capture. However, it's the very nature of his wares that make them so enthralling.   Baffgum's Wagon is filled to the brim with curious and friendly creatures and critters he has gathered throughout the land of Wrend. Magical anomalies such as floating rocks, walking moss, and vials of rogue sunsets fill every corner of his over-sized wagon. Bird like creatures without wings roll about the floor gathering small crumbs as they do. Hidden behind a particularly ornate bookcase is a full livestock stall, housing week old baby Jakalopes.   No wagon, whether caravan or Syndicate owned, has bells quite like those on Baffgum's Wagon. Their ring bright and cheerful, warms the heart of any Troll who hears it. He always arrives to the city gate right as the people are stirring. Word travels fast, and a crowd sometimes forms in the market before he even makes it past the gate.   Baffgum brings out, one by one, all of the wondrous things he has found beyond the city's walls. Most citizens of the New Harvest Syndicate have never left their city. They know without magic to keep their land livable, Wrend would bring every force down upon them to eliminate them from its mountainside. To a citizen, life is impossible outside the cities. No one quite knows his age, or how he can walk through the maelstrom of Wrend and still come out smiling, or how he finds the few things that don't want to make a Troll a meal and bottle them up for everyone else's fascination.   Everyone gather's around and awaits Baffgum's demonstration. He's there to sell but amusement is free.   While other's have tried to sell the rare harmless creations of Wrend, none have as extensive of an inventory as Baffgum's. It might just be pure experience, as even many elders attest to that man being just as old when they were young.
