Fair Pasture
The walled town of Fair Pasture would only ever qualify as a "city" in somewhere like Lastrovia. Settled on a hill only mildly taller than the surrounding ones, just a half mile from a nearby river, Fair Pasture looks out over the meager countryside of eastern Lastrovia like an old man looking out over his turnip patch, keeping watch for pests that would seek to steal them. The town is unimpressive to an extreme. The walls are a simple wooden palisade, and old enough that any genuine threat would find little resistance in them. The roads are mostly dirt, even in the town proper, with a few wooden boardwalks on busy roads. The city has long been without a lord, as the title of Lord for the region surrounding Fair Pasture was given to an order of Daemon hunters long ago, as thanks to them for guarding the Black Mountains against threats from the fallen lands of Tualey.
Demographics
Fair Pasture is populated mostly by humans, as well as a minority of Half-Orcs, Dwarves, and just enough Tieflings that the locals are used to them. Most residents are relatively poor, with common professions including farmers, shepherds, ranchers, and carpenters.
Industry & Trade
Most business that goes on in Fair Pasture relates to farming or ranching in some way. Food growth and preparation make up most of the town's occupations, but there is also a decent amount of business in hospitality, due to the town happening to fall on a trade route between Ishwan and Kasarai. Most of the townsfolk don't have the money to purchase the exotic goods these merchants carry, but the merchants are more than happy to spend the night in a warm bed, eating shepherds pies and drinking pálenka.
History
Fair Pasture serves as the de facto seat of the county of Ebonmarch.
The Dragonslayers of Fair Pasture
During the Battle of Brownstone Bridge, Koan of the Ebonguard was knocked unconscious during a fight with a red dragon. As the dragon moved in for the kill, Hela Fallebark rallied the nearby Faire Pasure militia, along with Groscul of the Ebonguard, in order to protect Koan. These shepherds, farmers, and town guardsmen armed by smiths of Battle managed to slay the dragon, and went on to become a well known group within Fair Pasture, commonly referred to as the "Fair Pasture Dragonslayers" or the "20 Dragonslayers".
