The Territory of Bha Khadgir
Technically, Bha Khadgir is a continent separate from Wyrmwuld, but it is a close enough geographical neighbor to warrant a place on Wyrmwuld's maps and their proverbial radar.
It is the native home of most of the world's orc population, who live in harmony with the (admittedly violent) nature of the island.
Geography
The island is actually made up of a volcanic mountain range, culminating in a supervolcano known as Mount Azgolgrod. It has been dormant for over a century, although it does produce a hefty smoke plume at most times.
Expanding outward from the volcanic range is a thick jungle, culminating in wide yellow beaches along the coastline.
Ecosystem
For the most part, the orcs that live here have hunter-gatherer societies, and as such are an important part of the food chain. The animals that live here are those appropriate to the tropical climate - giant crabs, small tusked deer, snakes, and so on. There is a high concentration of carnivorous plants that feed on the many insects and small creatures on the island. Most of these are harmless to humanoids, although notably not all.
Ecosystem Cycles
Although the "dry" season is still fairly humid and rainy, the yearly monsoon season has forced both the locals and the animals to adapt, and as such most live in trees or raised houses of some kind.
Natural Resources
Bha Khadgir is the world's primary source of obsidian, as well as many ingredients for powerful potions.
History
The last eruption of Mount Azgolgrod happened in 2238 GE, and this disaster wiped out nearly all life on the island. The ash from the eruption darkened the skies as far as the Neverending Mire, and lasted for days. During this activity, several smaller volcanos formed around the main crater, but they too went dormant after the event, and have remained peaceful since.
It took years for the citizens of Bha Khadgir to recover and rebuild, but rebuild they did, and better than ever.
Tourism
Bha Khadgir is not what one would call a tourist location. It does attract the occasional adventuring group, and the odd researcher, but that's the extent of it.
