Yami and Yagi, the Twins (YAH-mee, YAH-gee)
Yami and Yagi are considered Twindred - two bodies but one soul. They are often depicted as being in a constant war against one another, but in reality their give-and-take is relatively peaceful and they rarely come to blows.
Yami the Owl is a wise, quiet source of placid knowledge. She sees, she knows, she welcomes. She is often associated with forgiveness and acceptance, both of the self and others. She primarily appears in the form of an enormous barn owl, the size of a tree, although she will sometimes morph into a humanoid form with feathery hair and a long cloak that resembles wings. Her eyes have a milky white color with grey flecks - mirroring the moon itself. Her voice is gentle, deep, and soothing, and many say that to meet her is a form of enlightenment.
Those that follow Yami believe in the power of the cycle. Day ends, night ends, day begins, night begins. We are born, grow old, and die. With our death, others are born, and so on. They believe that it is right for all things to have a beginning and an end, and find peace and acceptance in knowing that even the worst of times will eventually cease and give way to joy.
---------------
Yagi the Kite, conversely, is brash and brave. He cares little for matters of the mind, and instead values action and kinesis - he loathes inertia and his believers often find themselves compelled to do something foolish rather than to do nothing at all. He appears in the form of a Red Kite, but rather than feathers, he has flames. He has little patience for diplomacy, preferring instead to have his visitors speak immediately and fully what they wish to say, without circumlocution. The excessively avoidant are often met with rage, and sometimes violence.
The believers of Yagi value decisiveness above all else. Problems can be dealt with immediately, and if the approach is flawed, then the following problem may also be dealt with immediately. They are less concerned with the consequences of their actions than they are with what occurs as a result of inaction.
