Stoutheart Engines
With bodies made in the great forges of Gracklstugh and a Kinetic Engine heart from Kraggenhammen, a Stoutheart Engine is a symbol of modern engineering. It is a vehicle able to pull large amounts of freight along built tracks. Several of the engines have been used for both The Kingsroad and The Iron Rivers.
The invention of Kinetic Engines resulted in a flurry of progress, with many working very hard to create something worthy of them. Clan Stout from Gracklstugh - originally wagon makers - teamed up with Clan Grimheart - originally coopers - to create the first version. This was widely praised at the time, further highly demonstrating the new bond between the two cities and the heights dwarfs and duergar could reach when working together.
Other interpretations of Stouthearts have been created by both dwarf and human inventors, but Stouthearts continue to provide the best quality of all - reliability. They may not be the fastest in the world, but - like any good dwarf - they are extremely durable and reliable, and are able to carry heavy loads for extended periods of time without major maintenance.
Stoutheart Engines have resulted in a substantial increase in the movement of both goods and people throughout Wyrring. The Kingsroad has created a vast amount of wealth between Kraggenhammen and Gracklstugh, while the Iron Rivers has also allowed for large migrations of rural people to major cities (such as the Arrivals Quarter in Carlis).
