The Slayers
A group of dwarves from Kraggenhammen who are sent out into the world to kill large monsters which plague the land. They believe in honour and are constantly searching for an honourable death – the larger the foe you die to, the larger the party awaiting them in the afterlife. Their numbers are few though, as there needs to be specific signs before a dwarf’s birth for them to be chosen as a Slayer.
Leadership
The Slayers are lead by their Chief Rorek Granitehand, who reports directly to the Jarl. The Chief position is determined through combat, where any slayer who kills a larger monster than the previous chief may challenge the current chief to a fight to the exhaustion. This fight will continue until one is too tired to fight, upon with the winner will serve as the chief, and the loser will go out into the world as a Slayer. The current Chief Rorek Granitehand slayed an ancient red dragon to achieve his position. If a Chief dies while in office, the Slayer who reports the largest monster becomes the de facto Chief until he returns to Kraggenhammen.
