Silvering

Many unnatural and dangerous beings that can be encountered as part of the Legions of Doom, and are made even more dangerous still by an apparent immunity to normal weapons. Such weapons have a tendency to deflect off, pass straight through without resistance, or in the worst cases shatter on impact. Fortunately, weapons can be made to affect these beings, in a process known as Silvering.
Silvered weapons were once actually made from silver, but the softness and rarity of the precious metal makes it unsuited for most weapon work, with masterwork Dwarven warhammers being a notable exception to the rule. Instead there is very little, if any, actual silver metal involved in most Silvering processes.
It is also possible to create Silvered armour, but the process is incredibly difficult, and expensive in time, labour, materials, and overall cost. Such items are highly sought after by Adventurers, but the prohibitive price puts them out of reach of all but the wealthiest of individuals.
