World Calendar, Languages & Currency
Calendar
Though each nation, tribe and group has their own general calendars (or at least a method to measure time), there are three generally accepted "major calendars" that each continent utilizes as a whole.Zaria
In Zaria, the Ceridian Calendar has been adopted by every major nation and is considered the "common calendar" for the continent after the effects of the Thousand-Year Blood War. This is tracked by a total of 360 days separated into six months. Each month holding sixty days. These days are not named, but tracked by number (ie. "Today is the 49'th of Evermet."). Each month is named as a reference to the conquest of the Ceridian Empire.- Galenforth (Named after the Elsha combat style of breaking a battle before it began through their aggressive tactics.)
- Sverenfelt (Based on the Víteliú celebration of art and poetry at the start of every year.)
- Angeluinam (A reference to the Emperor drinking from the blood of the Angels found in the Fall of the Angels Ceridian folklore.)
- Sangoriri (Meaning "Rise of Blood" as a reference to the Emperor's "God Lineage" rising to power.)
- Evermet (Brittanian meeting of the round table every year known as the Evermeet.)
- Gal'Duratus (The Ceridian name for winter expanded upon into a reference toward the rise of the once-great frost monarch of Dra'Kun, an insult against the people stating the giant people have now "frozen over".)
Drakonia
Within Drakonia, they utilize a 365 day year, divided into 5 phases, or "months" of 73 days each. These phases are known as Fire, Water, Earth, Wood, and Metal. Each phase is named for an element, and they tend to state the "era" as well as the year, instead of "After Rupture" like Zaria uses. Such as saying it is "the 46th day of Water, during the 4,021'th Year of the Jīnsè". Jīnsè being the current "Era" of the Drakonian Empire, and the family name of the current Royal Family that was taken during their rise to power and fame.Tauren'Dur
Transfering.Currency
Currency within the world of Xardia is based entirely on what area of the world you currently are residing within. Though there are some forms of cross-over, for the most part, each area uses its own form of actual currency. The major countries do have transfer rate possibilities but it can be complicated depending on the political landscape of the world. Faedra: Trade and Barter system, no actual currency. Knowledge is valued above all else, if it isn't currently known, due to how rare it is for the long-lived races to not know something. As most of the inhabitants can simply sing to a tree and cause it to grow them fruit, or shift into the shape of a home, there is no real need for proper currency. Labyrinthians: Those that reside within the depths, be it underground or within the Labyrinth proper such as the Daevatan clans, and Dwarves, rarely bother with normal currency of precious metals due to its abundance. Instead, they utilize jewels, rare metals such as titanium, tungsten, and especially mithril. They also value knowledge, but only if it's useful for their interests. Some clans utilize "Soul Coins" and Essense as a form of currency as well. Ceridian Empire: Utilize a form of coin-based currency utilizing weight as a measurement tool. There are no standardized sizes, but the materials hold value and the size then builds off of such. Most coins are blank that are in use across Zaria, but there are some that have been forged within the past few hundred years holding the face of the current emperor engraved into their surface. The materials used in order of value are: Tin, Copper at 5x Tin's value, Silver at 10x Copper value, Gold at 100x Silver value and Platinum at 1000x Gold value. The standard unit of measurement is called a "Face" or "Coin" and represents 5 grams of Tin. Drakonian Empire: Due to the incredible importance placed on metals, minerals, and gemstones of any kind since it is considered the holy offerings to the Dragon's whom offer them protection, currency within Drakonia is measured purely as a form of organization to enforce the law. They utilize carved wooden coins that are hardened with fire and engraved with their value atop them. This value is enforced by the Drakonian empire, and as old coins are worn away they are replaced and exchanged in various stations in the Empire.Languages
