Ananse

Ananse is the elder of a clan of beings who appear as drow, but with completely black eyes, and has a strange connection with the spiders she calls her children, which allows her to command them and see through their eyes. They live in the fourth level of the undercity, somewhere beneath Marketplace. She is Tyzian Far Davandi's mysterious partner who makes the gloomweave fabric sold at that shop. Ananse and her clan are under the protection of the Lady of Spiders, the leader of the Quickfoot Gang. Although unwilling to reveal who this is, she is willing to pass along information and requests to the Lady. Ridding the undercity of kidnappers can only be good for her people. While the clan rarely leaves their territory except to hunt, they are at least acquainted with some of the current and former denizens of the undercity, including the kobolds and thri-kreen.
