Rumors

In the order the party has received them:
Stormreach
  • Salar and Quolish do excellent work, it's just when they get too helpful that you have to worry.
  • The Jorasco enclave has an altar of resurrection, but they don't like to use it. They say things that die in Xen'drik don't always come back as themselves. Maru Sakhesh was the last one who was resurrected; he's as greedy as the dragons he's worships - so no change from before.
  • Legends say that long before the giants built Stormreach, they, the dragons, and the couatl trapped one of the Overlords here. With how much has been built since then, if they ever got out it would be a lot to dig through!
  • I hope the sahuagin settle down before the Games. Can't say I fancy trying to out-swim them.
  • Don't look into the eyes of the Night Marchers; y'might become one of them.
  • With all the strange beasts making themselves known, it's a good thing none of Tharashk's workers are the type to startle. And they've been making a good profit on the side offering their services to the farmers in the Cerulean Hills.
  • There's a lot of sneaky folk we don't see around usually - like them kobolds. I bet you anything all the restless undead what couldn't get out through the main doors are down there kicking the anthill.
  • If you want a simple show of strength, try the arm wrestling at Wavecrest. If you want to really impress someone, try the Rubble Race or surfing the scuppers.
  • "I heard someone tried to go to the Tower of Kol Korran to give proper worship and was turned away." "What do you expect from House Kundarak? Probably a prison." "Or a bank! Y'think they'll be sponsoring any expeditions soon...?"
  • Two silver on the Harbor Lord going broke within the next year. Nah, his mother is too smart to let that happen.
  • I bet this is how it started for the other cities that were here: get too big, and the Keeper don't want to keep anyone no more. Time to head back to Khorvaire.
  • I hear the Red Ring has gotten in some interesting hybrids in from House Vadalis.
  • Usually pretty dull around here after the Games, once everyone's done their shopping and carousing and left. Not this time. Just this tense feeling, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
  • "I hear a new Morgrave expedition is setting out soon." "What? Already looted Mel Aqat?" "Nah, these are kind of dull. Looking for bones."

Xen’drik
  • Just our luck, the first interesting thing we see in days and it's already claimed by Cannith. The area was safe enough to sleep in, but didn't bother trying to go in. Not gonna fuck with the likes of them.
  • There are rumors that a blue dragon has been sighted in Menechtarun, and that its presence is stirring up other creatures.
  • It's unsettling how smart some of the beasts out there are. Can't always trust Balinor to be on your side.
  • It is said a great ape wanders the continent. Where the footprints are found, the land flourishes.
  • Only a fool would think the Storm Lords are reformed just because some king told them to. Three Barrel Cove is where the most merciless of their crews are.
  • If you want an easy way into the interior, talk to Kaleena d'Lyrandar. For enough coin, she can take you down the Hydra. Won't go near the swamp though, not after what happened to her mother.
  • Sometimes you'll come across an old city and find that lesser giants - ogres and what have you - or something else have taken it for themselves. Hard to say where exactly, you understand. In any case, if you're lucky, you can make an opportunity to impress them and get some decent trade or information. If you're not, well, we're not gonna hear what happened to you, are we?
  • "And with a last, mighty swing, we slew the beast, and it sunk back into the fetid lair from which it came, leaving only this last head behind."
  • There's a group of giants that call themselves the Scriveners of the Sky. It's said Aureon took all their knowledge from the giants, but you can never be too sure. In any case, they seem more knowledgeable than others.
  • Strange beasts out there. Makes you wonder if the dragons mingled with more than the giants.
  • I could have sworn there was some kind of play about the people on Kapaerian Island when I was a kid. Can't say I know anything about them, no one from there in Stormreach that I know of to ask.
  • I've heard there's yuan-ti around, though they mostly keep to themselves and move around, it seems like. There might be some out in the east--it's not like those from House Tharashk to lie--but rumors of them in Menechtarun are more reliable.
  • It's said that the only way to find a place again is to travel a different way.
  • Alice, down in the harbor, says that when she was a little girl, one night all the Vision Circles showed the image of a massive battle. Didn't last long - just a few minutes before fading. All anyone could make out was the figures of giants and elves. She says she sees the battle from someone else's eyes every night in her dreams.
  • The sahuagin rule the waters, but some say there are places even they won't go.
  • There's tales of a white dragon, far to the south. You'll hear her death rattle before you see her.
  • So there we were, trying for a bit of fish at this lake before the long journey back to Stormreach. You'd think it'd be peaceful, but could barely get a wink of sleep. Place gave us all the heebie jeebies afore long.
  • The Riedrans are somewhere out west, mining something called crysteel. Whatever it is, we don't use it, so they're welcome to it.
  • I've heard there's yuan-ti around, though they mostly keep to themselves and move around, it seems like. There might be some out in the east--it's not like those from House Tharashk to lie--but rumors of them in Menechtarun are more reliable.
  • If you don't want to travel south by land, try House Tharashk. I hear they've got a mining operation somewhere down there, and ships making supply runs.
  • We were sailing up one of the necks of the Hydra and, fuck, I thought I'd died - talking trees and mischievous little buggers. Told us to turn around or the Spirestorm would take us. Didn't need to be told twice - never seen sky like that.
  • Don't think anyone's ever been to Everice. Can't be much there than ice and frost giants and what have you, even long ago.
