Session 95 - The Battle Begins

General Summary

Far, Eyre 20 - Sol, Eyre 22   Planning continues. The shulassakar give the Scoops a feather imbued with Hezcalipa's power. The Overlord was bound through the combined power of the couatl, the dragons, and the giants. His bindings will need to be reinforced with that power, or something equally strong.   Faron seeks out Twinkletoes, who gets Kirris's permission to have a break.
Faron: I would like to first apologize for wrecking your life, but on the eve of this glorious battle I have reflected on my life, and you've definitely impacted mine. When this all started I was raised with the assumption of honor and noble intentions, but it was all just violence, and violence gets things done. But despite what happend in Stormreach the fact you asked the stars for help means more to me than you know. In a way it proves I wasn't just someone in a tin can that can swing a sword. Hopefully you can find peace and happinness whatever that looks like.   Jack: I left Sharn because I didn't want to join the war; everyone I cared about left for the front and never came back. Stormreach isn't filled with the most honest people, but at least they're not actively at war with each other. I could just keep doing stupid shit, like robbing House Ghallanda and dining and dashing, not being forced to live up to some imagined potential. I never thought the person I stabbed when cornered would keep coming back to torment me, or save me. Look, Kirris is fucking terrifying, but when she has an eye for talent, I believe it, and she scares me into wanting to live up to what she sees. I fled the war in Khorvaire, but I want to do what I can in Stormreach. And after...Everyone in my past left, for one reason or another, but I'd like to get to know the person who keeps coming back. If there are any bars left after the battle, I think we shold have a bar crawl, celebrate together.
He's called back to work, and Faron does portraits of the crew. Cian invites his boys to a long vacation in the Shadow Marches. Aldritch makes explosives. Cian cooks up a Tyrosian-Baed feast. Zihir trains the crew to the tune of "Be A Man": Lets get down to business, to de-feat Sa-kinnirot! He hypes up them up: "After this, we're gonna sail on forever!" "Aye, Aye!"   Before disembarking with the southern land-based units, Grir approaches with his tome and tears out a page with the Branch. He agrees that this is not the normal effects of the curse. He hopes Morgan lives through this. Morgan prays to the Eidolon the night before battle: "Please look out for us, be with us in battle, and look out for everyone. If needed, I'll summon you guys, so be ready!"   Aldritch is wherever the sun is most, humming the song he danced to with Illaria.   Mol, Eyre 23   As they approach their positions - most land units in the west, ships to the east, and a small, fast group including the Scoops in the north - everyone prepares for battle, getting aided, listening to inspiring speeches, checking potion supplies. Grirsintyr, as an emerald greatwyrm, tears out a page of his tome, and an ethereal, pearlescent dragon appears in the sky above Stormreach: Aciriyar, here to protect Stormreach one last time.   There is a roar from Lurking Two-Maws, and the battle begins!
