The Storm Lords

The first Storm Lords were the most capable pirates and smugglers on the Thunder Sea. Between their wealth, deals with Galifar, and their combined forces, they were able to exert their power over the other residents of Stormreach. The Stormreach Compact assigns specific duties and areas of influence to each family.   The Amanatus
  • Race: Dwarf
  • Founder and Current Leader: Yorrick Amanatu
  • Primary Sphere of Influence: The Stormreach Guard
  • Family Business: The Stormreach Recruiters
  • Districts: Respite, Silverwall
  • Despite his age, Lord Yorrick is an imposing figure. He always appears ready for battle; he typically wears a mithral chain shirt and carries a heavy mace engraved with silver. The house has its origins in the Lhazaar Principalities. When Korchan Amanatu failed to claim the crown of Krag, he took his ships south to the Thunder Sea. Reaving under the sign of the broken crown, the Amanatu pirates were known as the most ruthless killers of the south sea, and many still hold grudges against the family.
  The Lassites
  • Race: Human
  • Founder: Molou Lassite
  • Current Leader: Varen Lassite
  • Primary Sphere of Influence: Diplomacy and commerce
  • Family Business: Molou’s Distillery
  • Districts: Cross, Marketplace
  • The family’s current head is Varen Lassite, a handsome man just reaching his middle years. Of all the Storm Lords, Lord Varen is the only one who is beloved by his subjects. He has a reputation for generosity, and though he cannot always supply justice, he will buy a drink for anyone who suffers misfortune in the Marketplace.
  The Omarens
  • Race: Human
  • Founder: Delera Omaren
  • Current Leader: Paulo Omaren
  • Primary Sphere of Influence: City infrastructure
  • Family Business: The Stormreach Forge
  • Districts: Forgelight, Temple
  • A powerful pirate, Delera proved to be less savvy as an administrator. She contracted the Omarens' businesses for too low a price and, over the years, the family has paid for it. Their family businesses don't make as much of a profit as they could. Paulo has been working hard to bolster the family's reputation - by force if need be. Paolo Omaren is sometimes seen with Greigur d'Deneith and is a proponent of warforged rights.
  • Paulo attended The Forge of War at Livewood Theater with Greigur d'Deneith and the warforged Steeljack. During the fight against the diseased zombies, refused to stop fighting even when on her last legs.
  The Sel Shadras
  • Race: Gnome
  • Founder: Kolis Sel Shadra
  • Current Leader: Kirris Sel Shadra, "the Lady of Spiders"
  • Primary Spheres of Influence: Crime and punishment
  • Family Businesses: Magistrates, the Quickfoot Gang
  • Districts: Oldgate, Southwatch
  • According to the Stormreach Compact, the Sel Shadras are responsible for the administration of justice; however, it’s an open secret that they also oversee crime.

  • Nymm 4: the Scoops learn that Lady Kirris is the leader of the Quickfoot Gang, and placed a bounty on Twinkletoes both to see what the Scoops would do and to get them to her office. Some of her people have been attacked by individuals bearing the symbol of the Bitter Tide Fleet.
  • Session 25 (Nymm 11): Kirris helps the Scoops fight Dradus Taniran.
  The Wylkeses
  • Race: Human and half-elf
  • Founder: Jolan Wylkes.
  • Current Leader: Jonas Wylkes
  • Primary Sphere of Influence: Shipping
  • Family Business: The docks and tariffs in the harbor
  • District: Harbor
  • Jolan Wylkes was more a privateer than a pirate, but he was included as a Storm Lord to appease King Galifar. He was declared the Harbor Lord - a part of the city, but always an outsider. However, the Harbor Lord, with the power to impose docking fees and tariffs in a city dependent on sea trade, wields considerable power.
  • Nymm 3: Jonas seemed annoyed to be called to the Harbor in regards to the sahuagin attacking the sailing competition, and even more annoyed by the Scoops interfering in Storm Lord business. Seems to begrudgingly accept the guidance of the other Storm Lords with them (Varen and Yorrick)
