The Dark mirror to the Kindred Domain
Asnesh is a foreboding island situated in the eastern reaches of Xenethia. It is a place shrouded in mystery and darkness, with an environment that is harsh and unforgiving. The island is a source of fear for many inhabitants of Xenethia, as it is believed to be home to ancient and malevolent forces that have resided there for centuries. These forces are associated with tribes that are more secluded and older than any others on the continent. Few who venture into Asnesh ever return, and those who do often carry with them harrowing tales of their experiences.
To the west, Asnesh is bordered by Florique, a neighboring region that frequently blames its mishaps and troubles on the supposed influences emanating from the ominous island. The southern border of Asnesh is shared with the Kindred Domain, a stark contrast to the desolation of Asnesh. The Kindred Domain is a place of natural beauty and wild magic, teeming with vibrant life. In contrast, Asnesh serves as a dark mirror to this domain, hosting a plethora of creatures associated with death and darkness, some of which are even believed to be naturally of evil origin.
The few surviving documents and accounts from brave travelers who have ventured into Asnesh, as well as accounts from individuals or creatures who hail from the island itself, provide insight into the internal power struggles that plague the land. While most of the intelligent inhabitants on Asnesh live in scattered tribes across the island, the central region is divided into four imposing towers, each situated at a cardinal point – north, west, east, and south. These towers are rumored to be the centers of power on the island, and each is led by an immensely powerful figure. The leaders of these towers are said to possess tremendous abilities, which they wield to assert dominance and authority over the island.
However, these leaders are not known for their unity, and infighting among them is a common occurrence. These power struggles shake the entire island, and the repercussions are felt by all who dwell within its desolate borders. Asnesh is a land of secrets, dark forces, and internal strife, making it a place of both terror and fascination for those who dare to explore its treacherous terrain.
