8. Dvalto Falls

General Summary

The Battle Ensues
Dvalto Alavor wields a confidence in those who face him now, spouting random things about your group seemingly to rouse hesitation or perhaps indifference towards him. A gibbering, scratchy voice echoed in everyone's head, whispering fragments of truths and doubts. It seemed to be difficult to damage Dvalto until those with sight of the invisible noticed something strange: a one-eyed creature lurking on Dvalto's back. It soon was apparent this creature was the source of the voices in their heads as the battle. However, his confidence suddenly shifted when radiant damage became present on the battlefield. His wounds stopped closing up rapidly as he changed his strategy. Taking up his abberation ally, he attempted to back away from the scene, firing off more and more reasons why they truly have no reason to strike him down here and now. His words seem to target each of you individually.
Despite his words, the group honed in on his stealthy companion. Knocking out the small creature, Dvalto seemed focused on defense/escape. Giving him no room to do so, the group rushes him down and in a few swift strikes, reduces Dvalto to mist. It starts to fly away from the group when a voice calls down to them from the rooftop.
You seem to have two options in front of you: chase him down to his quarters so you can kill him properly, or we can restrain him here and now. If you choose the later, just say the word and I'll assist.
— Gest
Gest Alavor watching their encounter from the rooftops waits for the confirmation from the group that the objective is "capture" and not "kill." He whips out a small vial that vacuums the vampire mist into it and he seals it shut. Dvalto Alavor has been caught.
As for the creature, some of the group brings him back to The Gloomy Clover for a plausible trade, only to find out the true nature of the creature: a Nothic with the power of telepathy and invisibility.
