Second Plague of Unbelief

Many years later during the closing years of M41, a Second Plague of Unbelief would emerge, this time around Segmentum Obscurus in the prelude to Abaddon the Despoiler's Thirteenth Black Crusade. Here, the Plague was spread by fanatical sects that had arisen which attributed recent turmoil such as Chaos Space Marine raids, pestilence, and Plague Zombies to a deviation from the Emperors original message. Speculating that the strife was punishment for their sins, the Plague swept through the region of Imperial space surrounding the Eye of Terror and full-fledged rebellion soon erupted on many Imperial worlds. The chief instigator of this Plague of Unbelief was the mysterious Voice of the Emperor.
