The discovery of Xenon Lambda was a major milestone in the Sol colonization effort. Psitech telescopes used to evaluate prospective colonizable sectors concluded that Xenon Lambda was ranked 5th percentile in natural mineral resources and 8th percentile in possibility to sustain life. This prospect attracted many of Sol's key players, particularly the Martian biotech megacorporation "Marineris Pharmaceuticals" as well as "The AstraVenture Group", an asteroid mining conglomerate that operated around Sol's outer planets. Marineris and AstraVenture came to a joint agreement and achieved a legal charter from the Terran Mandate to begin the colonization of Xenon Lambda. Hopeful colonists from all around the galaxy boarded the colony ships with dreams of starting a new life in this promised paradise. It wasn't long after the first colony, New Eden, was established on Thoea that the colonists received a grim reminder of how unwelcome they were in this new frontier. The First Contact Wars between the human colonists and the imperial Jyat were long and bloody due to how long it took for Marineris and AstraVentures to get ships and resources from Sol to Xenon Lambda. Eventually the Mandate had to step in to bail out the corporations, sending in a fleet of their own destroyers to ruthlessly push back the Jyat Empire to their home planet Dah, ending the conflict with a decisive human victory and dealing an lingering blow to the Jyat's pride. Following the conflict, the human diaspora spread rapidly throughout the sector, colonising world after world, with each subsequent colony growing more and more independant and distant from their respective sponsor. Great cities were built and hostile environments were tamed over the many years of lasting peace in the sector, until at last everything came to a screeching halt when The Scream hit Xenon Lambda. The Scream sent the colony worlds spiralling into a dark age of silence that lasted nearly six hundred years. Where once they stood strong and well connected, the Scream left them seperated, cut off from the rest of the interstellar network with their colonists divided among the numerous factions and cultures that dot the stars of Xenon Lambda. However, the age of silence has now come to a close in Xenon Lambda. A fragile network of interstellar communications and trade has begun to take hold and many brave merchants and explorers now look to make a name for themselves among the turmoil and promise of the post-silence age.
