Alkhana (Ahl-k-ha-nah)
Alkhai is an ancient frost dragon and friend of Relyt Drak and Illei Kelin. She was originally intrigued by the fact that Relyt Drak was able to talk to her when she growled at his party while they were traversing The Vault of Winter and the party was making too much noise. She gave him directions to the portal when he roared back in her language, and said she would visit after the brood was born. She was interested in him and the fact that he spoke dragon, and that proved to be a fortuitous encounter for her.
She sent him a request for aid when she was under attack from shadow creatures who were trying to convert her and her unborn clutch, and when they arrived and defeated the shadows, she blessed the party with Dragonblood, marking them as friends of an ancient dragon. This attack led Relyt to offer her sanctuary within his vault, which is shielded from all but the most powerful divine magic due to its divine nature, being created by the Sigil of Founding. Eventually, she requested a new home, and was granted the home by Relyt on the mountain, where she lived in years prior with Erkhai, before it degraded too much to support her and her brood until it was restored by Relyt. She has produced four broods. Three of the broods have been raised in the mage tower of the dragontooth mountains, and after the repairs she will raise the fourth brood there as well, under the protection of Relyt.
Terrible Times
Alkhana is over a thousand years old, and her mother was killed when she was young, along with her broodmates. Before Relyt's declaration, dragons were hunted and killed at every opportunity, but no one ever bested her. Some came close, but between herself and Erkhai they were able to fend off the assailants. She has worried about the safety of herself and her brood since her mate, Erkhai went on a hunt and went missing for over a year. She presumed that he had been killed while hunting for fresh meat to feed them.Abilities
As an ancient dragon, she is incredibly powerful and wise. She is over 1000 years young, and still in fighting shape. She has the ability to grant the dragonblood trait to those she wishes. She is a frost dragon, so her breath is not of fire like red dragons, but of ice and frost, freezing opponents in place if they are not frozen solid and broken apart with the lash of a tail.
