The middle child, often times forgotten, even by his own family. Harkin was a troubled child in his youth, often taking form in aggressive outbursts and rebellious acts against his siblings. Specifically, Arthur, who was the "prodigal son" to all of Voniel, and was believed would succeed his father in Sovereignty, should the populace allow. This annoyed Harkin, but since his brother was older and stronger than him, he would often harass his younger sister, Aegwynn, and her friend Thea. Much to his dismay, the young gnomish girl was stronger than expected, and Aegwynn more tactful than he realized. And so he instead devoted most of his time to training and living his life for himself. This would often "ruffle the feathers" of Arthur, who wanted to see his younger brother reach his highest potential. And put him on the path of archery and hand-to-hand combat. For the better part of his adolescence, the two were constantly in a state of rivalry, friendly from Arthur's perspective, but not quite so from Harkin's. In recent years, however, Harkin accepted his role in the family and relished in his lack of responsibility. This did not stop Harkin from attempting to "save face" with the citizens, for he did try to be fair and just like his brother when he remembered to.
