System Defense
The System Defense, also called the SysDef, and SD, is a network of specialized wirings, connectors, and mechanisms* that act as a robot’s defender against malicious viruses and foreign code. The system defense is connected by each mechanisms' Guardline*, a small component usually located at the bottom of the mechanism.
The S-Guard is the primary mechanism in charge of the SD, and continuously scans the body to detect any malicious code. Scanning continues even during stasis (though is much slower and weaker). A secondary ‘backup’ mechanism, the Servitor*, also aids in this process and can replace the S-Guard if it ever becomes damaged and inoperable.
If the System Defense detects a virus or foreign/unrecognized code, the SD sends a signal to the S-Guard, which then attacks and attempts to destroy the detected code.
IN REPRODUCTION
See also: Robot Reproduction In female robots, the system defense will detect the male’s reproductive code as malicious and sends a signal to destroy it. This can make getting pregnant challenging depending on how strong the female’s system defense is. However during a heat cycle, the system defense is temporarily weakened, and thus makes it easier for pregnancy to occur. Unfortunately, this also means viruses are easier to contract.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
