Tzoch
A Tzoch (tsoch) is a quasi-inherited or elected person who rules one of the divisions of Seya; Upper, Lower, Eastern, or Western. It is forbidden for a Tzoch to rule more than 1 division. A Tzoch is similar to a king, emperor, or other royalty in that they rule over a given state. However, a Tzoch’s position usually isn’t blood inherited.
The title is used for both males and females. However, given Seyan society, males are more often than not Tzochs than females.
ORIGIN
Tzoch comes from the Zey word meaning ‘protect’. It was believed that a Tzoch would protect, care for, and guide the people of their given division. (tba)INHERITANCE
A Tzoch’s position can be inherited, as with a king or queen. However it is more common for the currrent Tzoch to mentor or unofficially ‘adopt’ a future Tzoch, then pass down the title to them. The decision for the future Tzoch also isn’t definite, and a Tzoch may change their mind if they deem their successor unfit for the title. They would then adopt/mentor a new successor. As well, if the people are dissatisfied with the current Tzoch, they can call upon a vote and have them replaced if enough people want them out.HIERARCHY
The Tzoch is the most powerful person in their given division and they finalize all decisions. But Tzochs answer to the Seyan royal family, the Emperor and/or the Empress.NOTABLE TZOCHS
