Anatomy and Logic of our world

So, our world will be broken up into several segments or regions. Each one is a landmass and its respective islands are treated as a continent, and each one belongs to a particular Loremaster. As such, these regions on a certain level do belong to their respective loremaster. If that Loremaster leaves, their region may seize to exist as a result. Any players orphaned at that time will have the option of either being gracefully retired, or washing up on shore of another landmass to take on new adventures there.   A Loremaster's job is primarily to record the world here on WorldAnvil to keep it up to date as well as be the sounding board for Dungeon Masters to make sure the Dungeon Master is keeping their quests and stories in line with the world and lore. A Loremaster may also fulfill the role of Dungeon Master and actually facilitate games as well.

A Dungeon Master has the task of running games, taking players through challenges, stories, and keeping the players ever on their toes. A Dungeon Master may roam freely from area to area, allowing their party to explore the world far and wide.   A Probationary DM will be restricted to a particular area while the Loremaster sponsoring them assesses their talents and capabilities. Once the Loremaster is willing to state that the Probationary DM is capable of running without having their handheld, they are free to do so and will be promoted to full Dungeon Master.   For players, finding a party to join is likely to be a bit unintuitive, but your first step should be to look in the Games Rosters channel where DMs are expected to keep their party listing up to date, including any blank/empty slots they have that are open to being filled. You the player should look over these rosters and see which one appeals to you the most. After that pay a visit to the dramatic personae for the section those characters are in and see what the party makeup is, and the rumors of the region. Combine this information to help you decide what you believe would be a good and viable contribution to that party, then head back to the roster channel. Start a thread under this roster post. Ping each of those party members, and negotiate your way in. Even if the DM does like your character idea, it's the party that has to travel with you and deal with you the most. Once they are convinced, you are free to join up the next time the DM can swing an opening.

Unlocks!

A Loremaster gets an unlock cycle every time a party in their region hits a 5th-level milestone.(5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40)
Each unlock cycle gives the Loremaster 10 points to spend in the following ways; New god costs 7 points.
New Class costs 5 points.
New Race costs 3 points.
New Feat/Spell/Weapon/Armor/Item costs 1 point.

These unlocks are placed in specific areas within the Loremaster's region and can only be accessed there.

Each consecutive unlock cycle, knowledge of these unlocks spread to 1 adjacent settlement either by land or by waterway as appropriate.    However, players may lead to a faster spread depending on their actions.

Comment: Magical & Mundane Conundrum: Maybe more explanation on the two below items. This is probably just me, but it pops into my mind from time to time. a) Spells vs Spell-like abilities vs Supernatural abilities: I find this confusing at times as permanently animated structures, and some magic items are created by spells that aren't unlocked. b) Known vs Unknown weapons: I was confused when we found the serrated scimitars, but this is a technic that is unknown an isn't unlocked. 1) So are these experimental items that only a few have managed to master? 2) Are they fully unlocked in the same way as everything else? 3) Can they be studied, and would that have any affect or impact on anything?

some of these exist as things leaked over. Some are seeded for a chance to learn from or replicate.
