The Fall of the Xiqi Empire
Revolution
The rise of the Galvalaelide Nation.
A couple of years beforehand, Calliope and a couple of her loyal advisors and followers have been conspiring against their empress, Liu Xingzu, due to how she chooses to wage the war between the nation Koki and Xiqi.
During late 1549, early stages of modern firearms were being developed by Xiqin arctificers and were planned to be distributed during the war to aid the common folk and parts of the Himmelsdrachen Army but Liu was opposed to the idea as this goes against her ideals of waging warfare, going to great lengths as to halting development and having existing versions of the weapon be destroyed.
This act doesn't bode well with Calliope and most of the people of the nation, causing a great divide within the empire. For years, the entire empire was put on lockdown while Liu was having a campaign of destroying operations of firearm development. However, Calliope continued development in secrecy within the underground sanctums of Xiqi and there they would plan to overthrow Liu Xingzu from her throne.
Winter of 1566, 27th day of Nollie, on the warn-torn region of Ayakashi, Liu Xingzu herself as well as the 14th Himmelsdrachen Battallion was preparing to launch a head-on invasion on the strategic town Mizugawa which when captured would lead them straight for the capital city of Seijoukyo, which would end the war. Liu dreamt of the battle to be that of a glorious one, both sides fighting to their last breath as this is her enemy's last stand but what she got was nothing of what she envisioned, their enemies fell as the roars of explosives raged through the battlefield like wildfire, those of the Himmelsdrachen that were loyal to Calliope secretly took up firearms and used cannons that have been hidden in the battlefield to destroy their enemies, ending the battle in swift and decisive attacks with the use of cannons as the foot soldiers swept the ruined town of any survivors.
After the battle, Liu went back to the Mingtian Hall to confront Calliope, aggrieved by what she had witnessed. Upon returning, there she saw Calliope sitting on her throne, talking to some of her advisors and subordinates. She proceeded kill her military advisor and renowned general, Konrad Feuersturm and attacked Calliope breaking the glass behind her and taking the fight to to the streets of Mingtian. Calliope not wanting to get physical, plans to just evade her strikes but was eventually hit in the face and falls to the ground where she would get badly beaten up until the intervention that she was waiting happened. A blinding light from the heavens would strike down on Liu Xingzu, incinerating her from the mortal plane and transporting her to the Elysian Sky Plane where she would do nothing but reflect for centuries.
After the whole ordeal, the empire of Xiqi would soon be replaced by the nation of Galvalaelide where Calliope would be the ruler. However, after the assassination of Ciara Lustapher early 1567, firearms, along with their production and development would soon be banned by the goddess Judgement, deeming them to be "inappropirate, as they are weapons created to wage war". Firearms are still that used very scarcely however within the bowels of underground societies and lawless lands.
