Each church is lead by a high priestess supported by a council of a few lower priestess. The church as a whole is lead by the First High Priestess, who is also in charge of the Grand Cathedral in Eversted.
The University has also a chapel where a exerpienced priestess is stationed as advisor to young mages, but also as a sentinel for arcane misusage.
A high priestess is in charge of the library next to the grand cathedral and responsible for the gathering and storage of knowledge.
Public Agenda
As the religion of the godess that brought magic to the humans the church has been seen as protector of the arcane arts and sicences, but many mages complain that they supervise and also want to restrict the use of magic.
While often a less known fact until 437 YoU when First High Priestess Danikka van Szonek established the Inquisition, the church is also meant to protect the material plane from attacks from extraplanar beings, especially demons from the Abyss.
Mythology & Lore
The Lady is seen as the leader of the human pantheon because she gave the humans the gift of magic thus empowering them to defeat elves and dragons and turn themselves free. As the main protector of the human race she is considered as a good god, but some assume she has her own agenda.
