The collective Timeline of Yddrasil, from the world's creation, to the events the party currently helps create.
With the creation of the world came many opportunities for discovery. This age was filled with beings seeking to find adventure, landmarks, creatures and more.
Ao manifested from the primordial nothing, and from them came the Material Planes, Gods and mortals.
Years after the whole of Yddrasil was formed, Valaria was first settled. Life was difficult, threats of Giants, Dragons, and the other races made for short lives and outbursts of violence.
When Ralof Veil-Piercer spread the word of the Gods and their realm of power the Age of Discovery was finished. The Age of Worship had begun. With the Gods at the height of their power, they gave great boons to their followers and worshippers, and almost all societies became engulfed in their worship. While some scholars look upon this as a golden age, there are just as many who see it as one of unwavering hubris.
One of the early humans to settle Valaria, Ralof was an explorer at heart. He ventured to dark forests, deep caverns, and rising mountain peaks. When he climbed the peaks of the Glacial Fangs, he came across what appeared to be a meeting between beings of immense power. Their forms burned into Ralof's mind, and he stumbled back to his village, the light in his eyes slowly dimming. Dreams filled with voices came to Ralof in his sleep, and the voices told him of gods. Ralof Veil-Piercer spread the word of the voices of his dreams, and thus the Age of Worship had begun.
In an ancient kingdom, a King who's name has been erased from history set in motion a plan with his secret cabal that would shake the cosmos. He, along with his court wizard and spymaster, would strive to become new gods. Through a dark and twisted ritual, they ascended, removing a god from the divine realm and assuming its power for themselves. Thus new gods were born, the court wizard became Myrkul, the Gatekeeper. The spymaster became Bhaal, the Bloody Laughter. And the King became Bane, the Chained Tyrant.
After the Cabal's dark ascension, other gods and their followers were outraged. Two gods in particular being Pholtus, the Radiant Justice, and Sehanine, the Moonweaver. Together they made their own army to battle Bane's Black Hand forces, the Dawnfangs and Duskfangs. The War stretched for decades, scarring the lands of Valaria and the Western dwarf continent of Mazzelheim. Champions for both sides rose to power and were slain multiple times over, and artifacts of great power were made to try and end the war. The Cataclysm came to a violent end on Mazzelheim, during the God-Clash.
The God-Clash had brought about a new Age. Ao, furious with both gods and mortals for disrupting the balance, set about fixing the chaos. The Divine Gate was slammed shut, and worship of gods severely fell out of practice. With time more worshipers returned, but with a lack of religious based power came an influx of a different kind, the power of the arcane.
In the final battle between the forces of Bane and Pholtus and Sehanine, the two older gods set about making a massive display of power. The armies battled on the small Western continent of Mazzelheim, and from the sky the moon Tonus was sent down to destroy Bane's forces. The Black Hand was left decimated, but so was the land of Mazzelheim. The land of forest and mountains was replaced with one of black sand, the continent was renamed Lunarfell, to remind all of the gods' destructive power.
After the Enduring Crusaders came to Agramesh to stamp out remnants of the Black Hand, the Kingdom of Draconia felt personally insulted. Foreigners had come to their land and waged war for foreign gods, and their land was destroyed because of it. Draconia made an alliance with the roaming orc tribes of Agramesh, and sailed across the sea to wage war on Valaria. Many years of conflict passed, with the Stagfell Kingdom becoming the main force to fight against the Draco-Orc Alliance. Finally, after six years of conflict, a new King of the Stagfell bloodline was crowned. Instead of continuing the war, he set about ending it, and one year later the Treaty of Exaldren was signed, and the Draco-Orc Invasion was officially over.
The Treaty of Exaldren set about making peace between the Forces of Agramesh and Valaria. Draconia and their Orc hoard would leave the continent, and remain peaceful with Valaria. On the conditions that the Stagfells would act as the head governing body of Valaria, and more importantly, The Enduring Crusaders were to be disbanded immediately. The treaty was signed, and a representative fro Draconia was assigned to the newly made Valarian Council to make sure the treaty's agreements are adhered to.
The ending of the Draco-Orc Invasion was the beginning of what current scholars call "The Age of Peace." With the human Kingdom of Valaria at peace with the neighboring Dwarf and Elven Kingdoms, the future appears bright.
