Elemental Reed pen

Art.188: "No one aside from the Master of the Guild shall distribute elemental pens to the adventurers.

Art.189: The Guild must have a list of the adventurers that have the aforementioned item granted by the Master.

Art.190: Although these items can be in possesion of the adventurers during their service time, they are considered as property of the guild, and because of this they can't be sold or traspass to any other person.

Art 191: Once the adventurer who is in possesion of the elemental reed pen ends his/her services as adventurer, he must return the pen to the Master of the Guild, so that other adventurer can make use of this item.

Art 192: No pen manufactured outside this Adventurer's guild can be bought or brought to the guild. Only elemental reed pens produced by this illustrious guild shall be distributed to the adventurers.

The elementary reed pen ... the item that every brave and skilfull adventurer uses to open the doors to mysterious and dangerous caves or dungeons full of monster but also of great treasures. It is an item so precious and important that every adventurers guild have established regulations on how to use it and who can use it. Who was the inventor of this item? Its certainly unknown, some people say that they were the elves, the ones who invented the elemental reed pen to seal dangerous monsters that could become a threat to their people, or to hide treasures, usually donated to the gods. Others believe that the humans were the inventors, for exactly the same reasons and also for hidding information or write secret messages to friends or allies.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The elemental reed pen consisted on an stone or crystal related to one of the four elements: water, fire, earth and wind which is usually embedded at the center of the pen. The item would react to the inscriptions depending on the element or the type of pen used to seal the entrance to the cave or dungeon. On the top of the this item goes a Moon Stone, a special stone usually founded on caves in Seria. This stone is the one that allows the owner to read secret messages written with this kind of item as it illuminates the manuscript and reveal the letters.
Of course, these pens don't need ink, as they are magical objects they write letters thanks to their magical properties. For example, when trying to open a locked entrance to a cave, the only thing the adventurer has to do is to follow the lines of the letters that are engraved at such entrance, and the seal of the entrance door would be open and the adventurers can enter into that place.

Manufacturing process

First, an cut is done at the bottom of the cane, that creates the part of the reed pen that is used to write. At the middle of the cane, a hole is made and the elemental crystal is then embedded into that hole. Finally. Another whole is made at the top of the cane and the moon crystal is also embedded on that whole.

Finally a magical spell is recited and the quill activates and its ready to be used!.

Elemental reed pen are very rare objects and not many people have it. For example in the Blatian Empire only goverment officials and military commanders have this kind of item, specially for writting or read secret documents.

In other realms like the Seris Empire or the Oronai Kingdoms the use of this item  is reserved to the most trusted and skillful of the members of the adventurer's guilds.
