Bane
Bane believes himself the rightful ruler of all the planes and does not tolerate subservience to anyone, but works with The Sinister Seven when it served his interest. Bane's church was among the most stable and powerful of the Sinister Seven.
Followers of Bane are as likely to solve their disputes through reasonable debate as through show of ruthless force. There is a strict hierarchy among the followers of Bane, with Bane at the top all of his followers are willing to turn over their blessings when the Black Lord is ready to claim the throne of the planes. Celebrating no holidays, Banites show their faith through service and ritual torture and sacrifice of sentient beings offensive to the god. Clergymen of Bane pray for their spells at midnight, pledging their eternal loyalty and service to the Black Lord, knowing that the penalty for disloyalty or failure is death.
Clerics of Bane, known as Dark Hands, are recognized by the black-enameled gauntlet worn on one fist. They often consider themselves the forge that tempers rulers, making them harder stronger, and more evil. A Dark Hand is expected to kill or thwart a good creature daily, aid the law-abiding, and evoke fear of law enforcement and of themselves.
Goals of the church are to control trade in regions of power and to sell weapons and slaves. Then use the money acquired in these endeavors to buy influence and land over local rulers.
