Imyrwen Myth in Yeshilan | World Anvil

Imyrwen

In the betting houses and dangerous spaces of Yeshilan, there isn't a person who hasn't whispered a quick prayer to Imyrwen. Whether in need of a fortunate card draw on their last coin, or for an old ice bridge to hold just long enough to cross, Imyrwen hears the prayers of the desperate.

Imyrwen is rarely the primary deity worshiped in a city or home, but it is commonly said everyone will call to them at some point in their lives.

A deity of change, Imyrwen may appear as male or female, young or old, and any race or creature as they see fit. They are known for being a bit of a trickster, but their pranks are generally harmless and meant to teach a valuable lesson.

Temples to Imyrwen are unusual for religious spaces- often containing their own small gambling dens where offerings are bet against the temple's own coffers. It is considered a sign of good luck to lose your bet in the house of Imyrwen; for winning may be the deity's apology for poor fortune yet to come. Imyrwen's clerics are often superstitious in one way or another- paying close attention to what they see as bad omens, partaking in a small ritual before undertaking a potentially risky behavior, or carrying a good luck charm at all times.
