Nethys Myth in Yeshilan | World Anvil

Nethys

Those who study magic are well acquainted with Nethys. The god of scholars, he represents a never-ending thirst for knowledge.

It is rare to find worshipers of Nethys outside places of study, but just as rare to visit a grand library or university without one. Teachers, researchers, and scholars of all types are amongst his most common followers.

The appearance of Nethys is a thing widely debated, as he is known for not visiting worshipers in visions or dreams. Those who claim to have seen him report a man torn apart by magical chaos- half young and beautiful, half burning in bright green crackling flames.

A cleric of Nethys is expected to continue to learn throughout their lives. This learning may take many forms- from formal research in an education setting, to constantly working to perfect a trade or skill, and even wandering the world to record tales of events that have transpired. All knowledge gained is meant to be shared, and the grand library kept by the Order of Nethys contains information on nearly any topic you could imagine.
